I. Equipment Introduction

This machine is used for flanging and crimping the plastic water chamber against the side panel of an automotive radiator (Changcheng tooth-type) or for interlocking the main plate with a perforated design, ensuring that the plastic water chamber is tightly sealed to the main plate’s side panel via a sealing gasket, thereby creating a hermetically sealed space.

This machine is divided into a long-edge crimping machine and a short-edge crimping machine, which respectively perform crimping or interlocking on the long and short edges of the motherboard. The long edge is crimped or interlocked first, followed by the short edge; each crimping or interlocking operation is performed on one workpiece at a time. The long-edge crimping and interlocking machine serves as the main unit of the equipment.

The long-edge crimping and interlocking machine is equipped with a pneumatic pre-tightening device that firmly presses the water chamber before the crimping and interlocking process begins.

Equipped with a touch screen and PLC control system, the device allows you to display and set operational parameters (such as step distance and forward speed). It can store multiple tank parameters that can be called up at any time, making it particularly suitable for workpieces of various types.

Servomotors and servo drives are used to drive and control the ball screw mechanism that performs the crimping and locking operation, enabling the crimping and locking mechanism to achieve precise step-by-step motion along linear guide rails. Two sets of crimping and locking mechanisms are arranged symmetrically, each capable of having its own independent travel program, making this system highly versatile.

In addition to performing the crimping action, the clamping and engaging mechanism can also perform maneuvers such as avoidance and forward movement, depending on the shape of the workpiece’s water chamber. Thanks to the use of an aluminum alloy cylinder, the mechanism has become lighter and more compact.

The mainboard support mold for the long-edge crimping and interlocking machine can be adjusted according to the width of the mainboard.

After the workpiece is crimped and locked by the long-side crimping machine, it is simultaneously crimped and locked on the short-side crimping machine at both short sides. The mechanism can be easily adjusted according to the length of the workpiece’s main body. It features a two-hand button operation.
